Hens party ideas for the active bride

Is your bride-to-be outgoing, adventurous and one that would like an element of active breathed into her hens party? Here we have some great ideas to get the heart rate pumping and add some nature inspired fun to the mix. Any of these options will create an unforgettable occasion for one super lady.

Yoga class or retreat

Yogi or not, what better way to re-energise before the big day. Grab your exercise mats and head to a boutique all-level class in your area followed by a stylishly healthy brunch. Want to go all out? Then consider a whole weekend retreat. We’re sure you won’t have any trouble convincing everyone that a day or weekend of pampering, relaxation and stretching would be nice!

Bike tour

Hire beautiful cruiser bikes and take a city, beach or countryside tour with stops that could include boutique cafes, delicatessens, vineyards, breweries, local artisan vendors or even a gourmet chocolate factory. There’s something quite relaxing and intimate about biking with friends as the breeze sweeps through your hair and the scenery passes you by.

Dance class

Fancy a chance to work on those moves pre-wedding? A little sensual, a lot fun and a darn good workout! Go traditional, or add some exotic to the party and make a night of it with some samba or belly dancing. You can book a class at your local studio or hire an instructor to come to you. Be sure to set the mood with theming and decor to match.

Kayaking or tubing trip

Find yourself a lazy river, rent some kayaks or tubes and enjoy paddling or floating your way downstream while chatting and laughing amongst yourselves. This is a sure way to explore the outdoors and get in touch with nature. Add an element of glam with fancy swimwear and a delicious picnic pit stop on the riverbank partway through.

Lawn party

Think a lavish outdoor gathering, involving lawn games, sun dresses, and a beautiful picnic or antipasto spread – champagne flutes included. Break out the croquet set and hold your lawn party in someone’s backyard or head to your local park. You’ll be able to hire an assortment of lawn games from your local party and event hire outlet. As an added bonus, try to find out what the bride-to-be’s favourite childhood game was and surprise her. There’s nothing better than re-living fond childhood memories with your besties!

Camping getaway

Load your cars with tents, mattresses, food and wine and head to an idyllic bush setting, into a gorgeous national park or to a secluded beach location. Picture sitting fireside into the wee hours of the morning with wine and toasted marshmallows, sharing stories of your best friend and her partner in crime. This is the perfect setting to include some of our bridal shower games too. Truth or dare anyone?

Glamping

Like the thought of camping, but want something more glamorous where you don’t have to lift a finger? Then this option is for you! Over the last few years, numerous glamping companies have popped up in some of the most picturesque parts of Australia and New Zealand. With everything set up for your grand arrival, this is sure to be a relaxing, fun-filled time for all involved!
